Cooking Is My Therapy: A Journey from Pain to Purpose

Cooking Is My Therapy: A Journey from Pain to Purpose

My journey with food began in a childhood marked by abuse and fear. At just 7 years old, I would climb onto a stool to reach the cooktop—finding comfort in the simple act of stirring and seasoning. The kitchen became my refuge, a space where I could create, escape, and feel safe.

As I grew into adolescence, cooking became more than a coping mechanism—it became my passion. I began crafting my own recipes, often surprising guests with flavors they never expected. Each compliment planted a seed of confidence.

After marriage, during times of pain and emotional turmoil, I once again found solace in the kitchen. Cooking helped me forget, even if just for a while. It gave me purpose when everything else felt lost.

Today, that same passion has blossomed into two food brands I proudly run: Oh That Crust and Nukkad Biryani. Every recipe on both menus has been carefully developed by me—tested, refined, and perfected over months. They are not just dishes; they are stories of resilience, healing, and creativity.

Food saved me. Now, through my brands, I hope it comforts, delights, and inspires others too.
